PSI MYANMAR

PSI is a network of locally rooted, globally connected organizations working to achieve consumer-powered healthcare — people-centered health systems that ensure quality, affordable care wherever and whenever it is needed. For more information, visit www.psi.org.

PSI Myanmar is a non-profit, non-political, and non-religious organization that has been proudly serving the people of Myanmar for almost 30 years. PSI Myanmar was founded in 1995 to focus on HIV prevention and quickly expanded to sexual and reproductive health, tuberculosis, malaria, pneumonia, diarrhea, cervical cancer, and other health areas.

HOW WE WORK

CONSUMER LED

By treating beneficiaries more like consumers, and engaging people in the design of their own care, we will reach the Sustainable Development Goals faster, with better, affordable and more sustainable health outcomes. We’ll partner with others to bring the latest medical and technological advances that enable consumers to “self-initiate” care. We’ll use evidence and consumer insights to create new opportunities for consumers to access information, social and emotional support, products, services, diagnostics and treatment to become active participants in their healthcare.

CONSUMER POWERED SOLUTIONS

WE ARE DELIVERING

As PSI shapes mixed health systems, we are increasingly working with and through others to facilitate health impact. Keeping healthcare consumers at the corner, we will begin to measure and report our health impact not only for those products and services that we deliver directly but also in a way that captures the effects of sustainable systems-level interventions and innovations supported by PSI.

WE BELIEVE THAT, COMBINED, THESE FOLLOWING SOLUTIONS WILL ACCELERATE PROGRESS TOWARD UHC:

  • Stronger, more resilient mixed health systems that draw upon both the public and private sectors for the financing, delivery, and regulation of care
  • Digital solutions and tools that improve healthcare delivery
  • The ability for consumers to manage their own care (self-care), not only makes people active agents in their healthcare but also frees up scarce healthcare resources
